Applicant Copy Bill Review: Are you ready for the new copy fee schedule?
The new Copy Service Fee Schedule Regulations went into effect on July 1, 2015. Copy bills will now be easier to understand and pay, but does that mean that they should be paid without question and without important supporting documentation? New regulations mean new openings for potential exploitation, misinterpretation, and abuse. Perhaps now more than ever, claims administrators should take care to closely review each applicant copy bill before issuing payment.
AAA Copy & Review Services can help. We have reviewed over 100,000 copy bills. Judges have adopted our review process and we have never lost a trial. We provide a line-by-line review with detailed explanations and objections, denying any unreasonable, inappropriate, or unexplained line items.
For dates of service prior to 7/1/2015, we will give you a reasonable amount to pay, which on average is an 85% reduction.
For “fee schedule” invoices issued on or after 7/1/2015, we inspect each invoice to ensure that it meets all of the new requirements. We require the copy service to produce the appropriate documentation to prove that the work was done before we approve any payment. We eliminate any tacked-on or inappropriate charges that the copy service tries to sneak in, and flag any suspicious or abusive billing tactics.
